Prayers for the Bishop Walsh Community

We are asking for prayers. The Bishop Walsh School community is mourning the unexpected passing of one of our own, an exchange student from Brazil.  He was found unresponsive during the evening of November 2.  According to Cumberland Maryland Police, “The cause of death is not known at this time; however, there were no signs of foul play or drug abuse at the scene. The young man has been transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner for an autopsy.”

“It is important for us, as a community, to pray for him and his family as they experience this great loss,” said Principal Jennifer Flinn.  “Let us also remember those here in our own community who were close to him and shared in his experience here at Bishop Walsh.”

His parents were notified immediately but we are not including his name in this outreach until we obtain official permission from his parents to do so.

We are working closely with school and area counselors to offer support to students. School administration expresses their gratitude for everyone’s prayers, support, and respect during this difficult time.
