Dress Code

Uniforms are required for both boys and girls in grades one through 12. Students’ attire should be neat at all times. Complete uniforms are to be worn every day. Summer uniform can be worn from the start of school until September 30th and after May 1st.

Bishop Walsh School uniforms may be purchased from Land's End, Flynn O'Hara, Old Navy, Uniform Village, or French Toast.

The guidelines set for dress and grooming reflect a traditional approach that is intended to direct the student in the areas of cleanliness and good taste. Anything that detracts from this traditional standard or deviates from the concept of good taste will be considered inappropriate and unacceptable.

GIRLS 

  • Tops 
    • Elementary School (grades 1-5)
      • Burgundy and gray plaid jumpers with blouse or polo
      • White button-up short or long-sleeved blouse 
      • White or burgundy short or long-sleeved polo 
      • Burgundy t-shirt (gym days only)
    • Middle School 
      • White, chambray blue (26-27 is the final year for this color), heather gray or burgundy short or long-sleeved polo shirt
        • If a tee shirt is worn under the uniform shirt, it must be solid white without lettering or designs.
    • High School 
      • polo shirt of any color (August/September & May/June) 
      • White button-up shirt (October through April) 
        • If a tee shirt is worn under the uniform shirt, it must be solid white without lettering or designs.
  • Bottoms
    • Elementary School:
      • Burgundy & gray plaid skirt or skort
      • Khaki skirt or skort 
      • Khaki shorts (August/September & May/June) 
      • Khaki dress pants 
      • Gray gym shorts or sweatpants (gym days only). No yoga pants permitted. 
      • Shorts worn under the skirt should not be visible.
    • Middle/High School:
      • Burgundy & gray plaid skirt or skort -- to be worn no more than three inches above the bend of the knee. Any student who repeatedly violates this policy will lose the privilege of wearing a uniform skirt. Shorts worn under the skirt should not be visible.
      • Khaki pants with dress belt. Straight-leg or boot cut pants only. Pants should fit appropriately. 
      • Khaki shorts (August/September & May/June) 
  • Sweaters 
    • Solid burgundy, gray, white or navy sweater with no hood 
    • Elementary only: Burgundy Bishop Walsh crewneck sweatshirt 
  • Socks/Tights 
    • White, burgundy, gray or navy socks or tights 
    • Leggings are not permitted.
  • Shoes 
    • Elementary School: 
      • Rubber soled dress shoes in black, navy, or brown 
      • Tennis shoes without lights 
      • Backless shoes, slippers, moccasin-style shoes, boots, or similar styles are not permitted. 
      • Shoes laces must be tied. 
    • Middle/High School: 
      • Rubber soled dress shoes in black, navy, or brown 
      • Casual canvas shoes, backless shoes, slippers, moccasin-style shoes, boots, sandals, or similar styles are not permitted.
